Bruce is a longtime BMW tech who has set out on his own in Dallas-Ft. Worth. Very knowledgeable, and highly recommended.
Chris Canterbury has supported 5 United for many years. Very knowledgeable about /5s and you probably can't restore a /5 without him. Order parts online for all European bikes.
Brunos does a great job working on BMWs. Transmission rebuilds, cylinder head work, driveshafts, etc. Both /5 and newer.
Guenther Wuest is a BMW factory trained technician. He ran the impromptu technical sessions at Seneca Rocks, 1998 and 1999. He also led the restoration efforts on Larry Gillen's /5s. Hell of a nice guy and he does excellent work. He's the main man for transmissions. Word on the street is that he's a hell of a rider too!
John Borella does complete mechanical and paint restoration work and has many satisfied customers.He's also a dealer for GIVI, Epco, Staintune, Remus, PIAA, Brembo, Scottoiler, Eurotech, Works Performance, Heated Grips and more. He's well respected and known for quality work.
Mike Haven left 5 United when his interest in motorcycles and running a business consumed him. A glutton for punishment, he opened a motorcycle shop in Houston. In addition to servicing /5s and other BMWs, he sells Moto-Guzzi and MuZ motorcycles. He also has NOS (new old stock) BMW parts. You'll like him.

Sellers of Works shocks plus they're /5 specialists with an extensive searchable online catalog.
We're hearing lots of good things about Hagon shocks from Rockypoint Cycle. Used for years on British motorcycles, now available for /5s. These shocks even have the shroud on them, so they look almost original. Close enough and the prices are very reasonable.
