Here's a list of parts suppliers who can help you keep your BMW motorcycle running. Many of the companies listed have been used by members of 5 United at various times. The listed vendors have consistently proven their customer service is excellent. If you can't find it from one of these vendors, it may not exist.
Chris Canterbury has supported 5 United for many years. Very knowledgeable about /5s and you probably can't restore a /5 without him. Order parts online for all European bikes.
Excellent source for ignition switch replacement kit, stainless steel fastener kits, stainless steel exhausts, Boyer electronic ignition, silicone gaskets, Mikuni carburetor conversions and many other parts, including stuff for British motorcycles.
Mike Haven left 5 United when his interest in motorcycles and running a business consumed him. A glutton for punishment, he opened a motorcycle shop in Houston. In addition to servicing /5s and other BMWs, he sells Moto-Guzzi and MuZ motorcycles. He also has NOS (new old stock) BMW parts. You'll like him.
Sells new and used BMWs, but has been a great supporter of BMW clubs. They donated a S100 bike detailing kit for Seneca Rocks, 1999.
Craig "Vech" Vechorik is well-known in BMW circles for his vintage restorations. He also sells the "E-Z Clutch." This product makes the clutch easier to work on a /5 (or other BMWs). It's quite possible that you can't restore a pre-/5 BMW without talking to Vech. Should you stray down the dark path (the one without oil pumps), you need to know about Vech.
New & Used parts, new and used BMWs. They've been working pretty hard on their customer relations. Their website is worth a visit, especially the used bikes. If you're driving through Atlanta, it's worth a detour as the shop is outstanding.
They carry new, used & NOS parts for BMW & Moto Guzzi. They don't sell new bikes, so they're happy to talk to parts customers instead of ignoring us when $$$ walks in the door.
Very knowledgable, willing to talk and advise, takes credit cards and ships same day UPS, deep inventory, 10% discount to Yankee Beemers and otherwise decent pricing. Shows that a regular dealer can compete with mail order houses. BMW and Moto Guzzi.

We're hearing lots of good things about Hagon shocks from Rockypoint Cycle. Used for years on British motorcycles, now available for /5s. These shocks even have the shroud on them, so they look almost original. Close enough and the prices are very reasonable.
